FAQs

A video codec is a method of encoding and decoding video so it can be read from and stored on a computer. Many different codecs exist with varying levels of quality and space usage. Windows Media Player is the default player in most Windows pc but it doesn’t have the right codec to play the types of files that the camera creates.
We suggest that you try to use VLC Media Player to play the video files back. You can easily download it for free online in only a few minutes. Sometimes Windows Media Player and Quicktime cannot read the file type that this camera records in. Please go to this website directly: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/.
Make sure the microSD card is inserted all the way. You should hear or feel a click when it is. You may need to format your microSD card. You can click this link to watch short video tutorials instructing how to format an SD card on different operating systems.
Your micro SD card may be full of memory; in order for the recording to store you will need to download the video to your PC or select the Cycle Recording option in the menu; this will overwrite any recording starting from the first file.
